200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

It's never too early to start your payment plan for training. Start your 2020 training journey now!

The Yoga Alliance Certified Create Power Yoga Teacher Training will give you a deep insight into both your yoga practice and understanding of yourself. You will learn how to teach yoga classes that are based in breath, alignment, and meditative movement.  You will come away from training with a comprehensive understanding of yoga physiology, meditation, teaching and communication skills, and how to lead a powerful, strength-building yoga class seeped in using breath and body awareness to create meditation. We will give you the tools to be a successful teacher while you deepen your own practice and understanding of yoga.

Many trainings emphasize reading and lecture. In this training, you will practice teach from day two. Your learning will be through discussion, lecture, hands on exercises, and teaching others. You will leave with skill not only in yoga teaching theory, but in real yoga teaching practice.

These books will be practical as guides, references, and inspiration for you long after training.

Our curriculum has been registered with Yoga Alliance and meets their strict guidelines for teacher training. Upon completion of your training, we encourage you to register with Yoga Alliance as a "RYT-200."

Who should apply?

Apply regardless of whether or not you want to teach. This training is for previously certified teachers, those who want to teach, and those who just want to learn more about and deepen their personal yoga practice.

Yoga teacher training is about exploring not only your yoga practice, but also your life. To dive into training means to step out, to take a leap of faith, and brave something unknown.

In this training, we will coach you in how to teach an effective, safe, and meaningful yoga class in a way that is authentically you. As a side effect, you’ll become an amazing yoga teacher through a comprehensive program that gives you the information, practice, and support to succeed. We are committed to your success & will do our part to support you in any way we can.

Unlike other training schools, we keep our training small - no more than 10 people - to ensure that we have time to get to know you and coach directly to your needs.  This allows for greater bonding between training participants (you’ll make friends for life!) and plenty of individual time to teach and practice crucial skills.

What if I want to take the training but don't want to be a teacher?

We have many students who come to teacher training because they want to learn more about their own yoga practice. However, most of these students surprise themselves and begin teaching classes! Whether you want to teach or not, you are welcome to apply for training and come to learn.

What style of yoga will I be certified to teach after training?

The Create Power Yoga Teaching Methodology will prepare you to teach power vinyasa classes. Our methodology is based on Baron Baptiste's Power Yoga class series, and adds emphasis on powerful and dynamic movement, breath, and the connection and communication between students and teacher. You will learn how to teach yoga classes that are based in breath, alignment, and meditative movement.

You will also explore the fundamentals of other asana styles, such as iyengar, yin, restorative, and gentle yoga, and yoga for special populations (ie: kids, seniors, trauma-informed). You will become versed about the differences that exist between various yoga styles. You will be given a sequence to learn for purposes of your final exam, but you'll be encouraged to teach with your own unique expression, variation & style, and it is up to you where and what you teach when training is over.

Our curriculum has been registered with Yoga Alliance and meets their strict guidelines for teacher training. Upon completion of your training, we encourage you to register with Yoga Alliance as a "RYT-200."

"My favorite part of the CPY YTT program was that the entire CPY community, from the teachers to the studio's regular students, were involved in our training program. Whether it was providing us with constructive feedback or allowing us to practice teach in their classes, everyone welcomed us with open arms and support. I could not think of a more nurturing environment to have developed my teaching skills in." -Maegan A., 2018 Grad

"I have been a student of Create Power Yoga for the past 3 years and can say with great humility that I would not be the student, teacher, or person that I am today without the guidance and support of Petra Lehman-Brauer. Petra approached me a year prior to my teacher training and suggested I consider the YTT program. Although it was something I could see myself doing in my dreams, I didn't feel as though I was right for it or ready for it. Fast forward a year. I took the leap and I am so grateful that I did. Petra's teacher training not only prepared me for a position at the head of a class, but also provided me with the tools to become a true yogi- inside and outside of the studio. My practice got stronger, my knowledge base of the art and discipline of yoga grew tenfold, and my self-awareness and understanding of my place in this universe became the foundation on which I continue to build my life. I encourage anyone and everyone to take full advantage of this phenomenal experience!" -Rachel T., 2016 Grad

"I completed my RYT-200 teacher training with Petra Lehman Brauer December 2015.  I initially was looking to advance my yoga practice but with Petra's encouragement I found a passion in teaching. Throughout the training, Petra provided such support and guidance that helped me build the confidence to be the teacher I am today.  Her training was well structured and she provided endless resources to utilize. I would recommend teacher training at create power yoga to any one of my friends looking to advance their yoga practice." -Brittany P., 2015 Grad

In Fall 2016 I received my 200-hour RYT, through the yoga school of Create Power Yoga, under the instruction of Petra Lehman-Brauer. This experience was not only educational and informative, but an inward journey of the self. The training gave me the ability and confidence to be able to walk into a yoga studio and actually teach yoga, not just repeating phrases and cues. Instead, I have been given the ability to provide meaningful directions that impacts students in a classroom. Although this 200-hour training is just the bringing of my journey, Petra Lehman-Brauer’s training was a wonderful transition form student to teacher and has allowed me to feel ready to take on the teaching world." -Katherine W., 2016 Grad

I graduated from Create Power Yoga 200 hour YTT December 2016. The experience was life changing. I decided to enroll in training with hopes of working thru some inner struggles and deepening my personal yoga practice. I originally had no intention to teach having only practiced yoga for 6 months prior to the training. With Petra's guidance and encouragement I fell in love with teaching. Being able to teach live classes at the studio right away was an amazing experience that is hard to find in most programs. Petra's approach to teaching is highly effective and hands on. You will receive personalized attention & support to become the best yoga teacher you can be. Not only did I discover who I truly was, I made amazing connections with the other trainees that will last a life time. I highly recommend Create Power Yoga as a place to begin your journey to take your yoga practice to the next level." -Rachel C., 2016 Grad

"My YTT experience at Create Power Yoga was a life-changing one. Each day of training was packed with useful information which was built on content from the previous weeks. We really tapped into our spirituality and honed in on bringing our individual personalities into our teaching-- and had fun doing it!! I would take this training over and over again. I cannot say enough about how positive, helpful, and knowledgeable Petra is. You will walk out of the last day of teacher training feeling confident in leading your own yoga class." -Lynette S., 2018 Grad
