Current yoga teachers will learn to enhance their teaching by learning skills to address the hip girdle and spine during regular vinyasa practice. Teachers will also learn to teach specifically to hip and back pain - its origins in the body and effects on musculature and alignment, as well as different types of pain and injury (sciatica, herniation, etc). The goal of the course is to better help, through our own understanding of anatomy, students learn to relieve tensions surrounding these injuries. Modifications and hands-on assisting will also be addressed.
Course qualifies for continuing education credits on Yoga Alliance.
Course is taught by Petra Lehman-Brauer, founder of the successful Yoga for Hip & back Pain program at Create Power Yoga. Petra is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.
