The Yoga Alliance Certified Create Power Yoga Teacher Training will give you a deep insight into both your yoga practice and understanding of yourself. You will learn how to teach yoga classes that are based in breath, alignment, and meditative movement. You will come away from training with a comprehensive understanding of yoga physiology, meditation, teaching and communication skills, and how to lead a powerful, strength-building yoga class seeped in using breath and body awareness to create meditation. We will give you the tools to be a successful teacher while you deepen your own practice and understanding of yoga.
Many trainings emphasize reading and lecture. In this training, you will practice teach from day two. Your learning will be through discussion, lecture, hands on exercises, and teaching others. You will leave with skill not only in yoga teaching theory, but in real yoga teaching practice.

What our graduates say...
My favorite part of the CPY YTT program was that the entire CPY community, from the teachers to the studio's regular students, were involved in our training program. Whether it was providing us with constructive feedback or allowing us to practice teach in their classes, everyone welcomed us with open arms and support. I could not think of a more nurturing environment to have developed my teaching skills in.
One could assume I’m just biased, but I’m NOT KIDDING when I say this program not only changed my own practice, it changed my life. I learned so much about anatomy that my own practice skyrocketed in the year after my training, I went from barely knowing how to chatarunga to doing every arm balance in the book. Because yes it’s about strength, but it’s also about awareness and understanding the details that make an enormous difference in accessibility. I used to think there was no way I could share information, teach or help people learn. Now I know I can and I feel confident in my ability to do so in a way that is unique to my spirit. Now, I straight up look into the room and I see skeletons, but not in a creepy way- in a way that helps ME help YOU. This program provided me with concrete knowledge and understanding to help others understand their bodies- not just put them in poses- but actually TEACH in a way that fosters independence among students. From weekend TWO, we start teaching in live classes. That might sound scary, but I’m telling you it’s THE way to learn how to teach with confidence- by teaching, baby. To my friends who have reached out and asked my advice about YTT, you already know how I feel about it. Don’t waste your money on a training that might seem “quicker” or “less expensive”. This is not the kind of thing you shortchange. You want the real deal. And this is it.
I completed my RYT-200 teacher training with Petra Lehman Brauer December 2015. I initially was looking to advance my yoga practice but with Petra's encouragement I found a passion in teaching. Throughout the training, Petra provided such support and guidance that helped me build the confidence to be the teacher I am today. Her training was well structured and she provided endless resources to utilize. I would recommend teacher training at create power yoga to any one of my friends looking to advance their yoga practice.
This experience was not only educational and informative, but an inward journey of the self. The training gave me the ability and confidence to be able to walk into a yoga studio and actually teach yoga, not just repeating phrases and cues. Instead, I have been given the ability to provide meaningful directions that impacts students in a classroom. Although this 200-hour training is just the bringing of my journey, Petra Lehman-Brauer’s training was a wonderful transition form student to teacher and has allowed me to feel ready to take on the teaching world.
The experience was life changing. I decided to enroll in training with hopes of working thru some inner struggles and deepening my personal yoga practice. I originally had no intention to teach having only practiced yoga for 6 months prior to the training. With Petra's guidance and encouragement I fell in love with teaching. Being able to teach live classes at the studio right away was an amazing experience that is hard to find in most programs. Petra's approach to teaching is highly effective and hands on. You will receive personalized attention & support to become the best yoga teacher you can be. Not only did I discover who I truly was, I made amazing connections with the other trainees that will last a life time. I highly recommend Create Power Yoga as a place to begin your journey to take your yoga practice to the next level.
My YTT experience at Create Power Yoga was a life-changing one. Each day of training was packed with useful information which was built on content from the previous weeks. We really tapped into our spirituality and honed in on bringing our individual personalities into our teaching-- and had fun doing it!! I would take this training over and over again. I cannot say enough about how positive, helpful, and knowledgeable Petra is. You will walk out of the last day of teacher training feeling confident in leading your own yoga class.
